GJEPC Pushes for Mega CFC for Surat Diamond Industry 

Surat | Gujarat — At a time when India’s gems and jewellery sector is navigating global volatility and shifting trade dynamics, the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) is doubling down on infrastructure-led growth. Reinforcing this commitment, GJEPC’s Surat Regional Office successfully concluded the third session of its ‘Growth Unlock with GJEPC’ webinar series, focusing on how advanced infrastructure and technology support can empower trade members and exporters.

The session witnessed participation from over 70 industry stakeholders, including manufacturers, exporters and aspiring entrepreneurs from Surat’s diamond ecosystem. A key highlight was a detailed presentation on the Bharat Ratnam Mega Common Facility Centre (CFC), one of India’s most ambitious infrastructure projects for the gems and jewellery sector.

Participants were given an in-depth overview of the state-of-the-art machinery, cutting-edge technology, value-added services, and streamlined access procedures available at the Mega CFC. The presentation underlined how the facility can help reduce operational costs, improve productivity, and enhance global competitiveness—especially for small and medium enterprises.

In addition, the session also covered the Rajkot CFC, outlining its capabilities and explaining how manufacturers and exporters from the Saurashtra region can leverage the facility to scale operations and meet international quality standards.

Addressing the participants, Jayanti Savaliya, Regional Chairman, GJEPC, emphasised the strategic importance of such initiatives.

“Infrastructure and technology are no longer optional—they are critical growth drivers. Through platforms like Growth Unlock, GJEPC is ensuring that Surat’s trade members are fully aware of the facilities, support systems and training available to help them compete globally,” Savaliya said.

Two key announcements further underscored GJEPC’s proactive approach. A guided industry visit to the Bharat Ratnam Mega CFC has been scheduled for January 2026, allowing members to experience the facility firsthand. Additionally, an export-focused training programme for aspiring exporters in Surat will be held on January 17–18, 2026, aimed at building export readiness and compliance capabilities.

With initiatives like Growth Unlock, GJEPC continues to strengthen Surat’s position as the world’s leading diamond manufacturing hub—backed by modern infrastructure, skilled talent and future-ready exporters.
