Chennai : Fybros recently held a Beach Cleanup Activity in Chennai, Tamil Nadu’s Ashtalakshmi Temple Beach in an effort to preserve marine life and educate the public about responsible trash disposal.
There were two goals to achieve with the Beach Cleanup Event. As a first priority, it sought to protect marine environment by decreasing the quantity of trash that washed ashore. Second, the exercise had a significant emotional impact on the participants, making them more aware of the negative consequences of careless trash disposal and plastic overuse.
Around 150 volunteers showed up to the event, all of whom were committed to helping the planet in some way. During the clean-up, volunteers gathered almost 800 kilogrammes of trash. The volunteers worked tirelessly to sort the trash into several piles before turning it over to company representatives for proper disposal.
The volunteers have first-hand experience with the staggering amount of trash that ends up in our waterways. Participants gained a feeling of accomplishment and environmental consciousness after seeing the issue for themselves. They have come to realise the devastating effects that humans have on the natural world and its inhabitants.
The people living in the area surrounding the body of water have publicly acknowledged the beneficial changes brought about by the effort and expressed their gratitude. The local business community also commended Fybros and the volunteers, recognising the value of their efforts to keep the community clean and safe.
The event, which was organised in tandem with the Environmentalist Foundation of India, helped participants feel more connected to the natural world and its present state, perhaps motivating them to do more to improve it.
Despite certain setbacks, Fybros is determined to go on with its environmental protection initiatives. By cooperating, we can make the planet healthier, greener, and more sustainable.
