New Delhi: Dr. Sahil Lal, the son of Dr. Purushottam Lal, a globally renowned doctor who has received important accolades such as the Padma Vibhushan, the Dr. B.C. Roy national award, and the Padma Bhushan, is carrying on his father’s tradition by expanding their healthcare services internationally. Dr. Lal discusses the introduction of Muscat Premier Polyclinic, a new multi-specialty polyclinic in Oman, and their commitment to delivering accessible and modern healthcare services to the community in this interview.
Dr. Sahil, could you inform us about Metro Hospital’s recent launch of Muscat Premier Polyclinic in Oman?
Muscat Premier Polyclinic, a new multi-specialty polyclinic located in Al Khoud, Muscat, has been inaugurated by Metro Hospital, one of India’s premier healthcare providers. We recognised an increasing demand for healthcare services in the GCC region and felt that by providing accessible and modern healthcare services in Oman, we might have a good effect, develop medical tourism, and deepen the century-long link between Oman and India. This is our second trip, following Cambodia.
What services does the polyclinic provide?
We currently provide general medical, mother and child care, orthopaedics, internal medicine, laboratory, X-ray, and dentistry services. We intend to grow in the future to include physiotherapy, dermatology, and other procedure-based clinics. We also intend to convert the polyclinic into a day care facility.
How is the polyclinic’s infrastructure?
The polyclinic is outfitted with cutting-edge technology and equipment to offer patients with the finest possible care. We have ensured that the infrastructure is current, and that the services are geared towards the most affluent patients.
What is the hospital’s dedication to the community?
We are dedicated to interacting with the local community and intend to introduce projects and programmes to promote health and wellness in the surrounding area. Medical check-up camps, observation days, health packages, insurance tie-ups, and home care services will be organised. Our long-term goals are to keep patients and bring in new ones.
Can you tell us more about Dr. Purushottam Lal, the hospital’s founder?
My father, Dr. Purushottam Lal, is a Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan recipient who is worldwide recognised as one of the best cardiac doctors. He established Metro Hospital with the goal of providing the community with affordable and accessible healthcare services.

We are dedicated to offering the highest quality healthcare services to the community. Metro Hospital has taken an important step towards expanding its services globally and contributing to the Oman healthcare system with the opening of Muscat Premier Polyclinic.
