Devotees from Surat Take Inaugural Flight to Ayodhya for Grand Mahayagya

This historic flight marks a new chapter in Ayodhya's pilgrimage journey, just weeks before the much-anticipated Ram Temple consecration ceremony. As the first flight from Delhi landed at Ayodhya's newly built airport on December 30, Thursday saw the inaugural Indigo flight from Ahmedabad bringing a wave of excited devotees to the holy city.

Ahmedabad : About 148 passengers, mostly devotees and sadhus from Surat, took the inaugural direct flight from Ahmedabad to Ayodhya on Thursday morning. Led by BJP MLA Purnesh Modi, known for his legal battle against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, the Surat contingent is set to participate in the grand 1008 Hanuman Mahayagya at the Ayodhya Ram Temple on Makar Sankranti, January 14.

The Ahmedabad airport itself resonated with a divine aura. Indigo airline staff, clad in costumes of Lord Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana, greeted passengers with chants of “Jai Shree Ram,” creating an electrifying atmosphere.

Among the eager passengers was BJP MLA Purnesh Modi, who expressed his euphoria, saying, “This inaugural flight from Ahmedabad to Ayodhya is a dream come true. After 550 years of struggle, the Ram Temple consecration is finally upon us, and I am privileged to be a part of this historic moment. Witnessing the temple’s consecration in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 22nd will be an unforgettable experience.”

For devotees like Surat resident Sangeeta Sharma, the flight was more than just a travel experience. “It’s a pilgrimage,” she said, her eyes shining with anticipation. “To be in Ayodhya at this momentous time, to participate in the Mahayagya, and to witness the temple’s consecration – it’s a blessing I cannot even describe.”

The voyage holds special significance as the pilgrims from Surat are destined to participate in the grand 1008 Hanuman Mahayagya at the Ayodhya Ram Temple. Scheduled on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, January 14, the event will be conducted in the presence of Rambhandracharya Maharaj.
