Mumbai, India: CleanFoldz Laundry, Mumbai’s fast-growing AI-powered laundry and dry-clean franchise, has marked its second anniversary with the grand launch of a new outlet in Ulwe, Navi Mumbai. The expansion further strengthens its footprint across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and reflects the rising demand for organized, technology-driven laundry solutions in urban India.

Established in September 2023, the venture was founded by Darshan Joshi and Gaurav Hirey, who combined their diverse professional expertise to build a scalable and process-driven service brand. From a single outlet in Vikhroli West, Mumbai, the company has expanded to 15 operational stores across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Thane within two years.

A Vision Backed by Experience and Strategy

Darshan Joshi brought strong experience in construction projects, retail operations, and franchising. His background in managing complex projects and scaling business models laid the operational foundation for the venture. Gaurav Hirey, a seasoned global HR professional with experience across Singapore and India, strengthened the organisation with talent development, structured systems, and a performance-oriented culture.

Recognising the growing need for reliable, hygienic, and technology-enabled laundry services in post-pandemic urban India, the founders launched the brand at a time when consumer behaviour was rapidly evolving. Despite challenges such as supply chain disruptions and regulatory adjustments, the leadership focused on standardisation, quality control, and digital integration to ensure consistent service delivery.

Technology-Driven Laundry Services for Urban India

Each outlet operates on an app-based system that enables doorstep pickup and delivery, AI-powered order assistance, and real-time tracking. The model ensures transparency and convenience for customers who seek dependable services without compromising on hygiene.

The service portfolio includes wash-dry-fold, wash-dry-iron, dry cleaning, steam ironing, curtain cleaning, and shoe cleaning. Garments are processed separately to avoid mix-ups, and fabric-safe cleaning methods are used to maintain garment quality. With modern equipment and trained staff, the company aims to deliver fresh, ready-to-wear clothes within an average turnaround time of around 48 hours.

Transparent pricing with no hidden charges, along with affordable premium positioning, has contributed to growing customer trust across residential and commercial segments.

Strategic Expansion into Ulwe, Navi Mumbai

The newly launched Ulwe outlet marks a significant entry into one of Navi Mumbai’s fastest-developing residential and commercial hubs. Designed with modern infrastructure and seamless digital integration, the store strengthens the brand’s presence in the region while catering to busy professionals and working families seeking convenient solutions.

From its flagship store in Vikhroli West, the company has steadily built a franchise ecosystem that supports partners with structured onboarding, optimized store layouts, operational guidance, and continuous marketing assistance. The second-anniversary milestone underlines both customer loyalty and franchise partner confidence.

Building a Scalable Franchise Ecosystem

The business model has been developed to offer relatively low-entry infrastructure requirements supported by standardised operating procedures and centralised brand support. Sustainable practices, subscription-based service options, and data-driven digital marketing initiatives have further enhanced operational efficiency and customer engagement.

With steady expansion across Maharashtra, the company is now preparing for a wider footprint. Future growth plans include Pune, additional parts of Navi Mumbai and Thane, Ahmedabad (to be opened in March) , Badlapur, Rajkot, Vadodara, Bengaluru, Secunderabad, Hyderabad, and Chennai, aiming to establish a strong pan-India presence in the organised laundry and dry-cleaning sector.

A Growing Opportunity for Customers and Entrepreneurs

The journey of the founders reflects how structured planning, technology adoption, and disciplined execution can transform a traditional service into an organised, scalable enterprise. As urban lifestyles become increasingly fast-paced, demand for reliable and tech-enabled laundry services is expected to rise further.
