NEW DELHI: The 36-day-long student agitation at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar has been called off after the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) announced that the Central Government had accepted all three of its major demands linked to the NEET paper leak controversy.

In a joint press conference held at the Constitution Club of India, CJP spokespersons, along with BJP leaders including JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh, announced the conclusion of the protest. The party claimed that its demands for accountability, relief, and justice for affected students had been accepted by the government.

According to CJP representatives, the three demands included the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, withdrawal of cases registered against student protesters in BJP-ruled and BJP-allied states, and financial assistance of ₹1 crore to the families of 21 students who allegedly died by suicide following the NEET paper leak controversy.

“This is a victory of students who stood united for transparency and accountability in the examination system. The government has accepted our key demands, and therefore we are ending the agitation,” CJP spokespersons said.

The protest had gained attention over allegations of irregularities in the NEET examination process, with students demanding strict action and reforms in the national examination system.

BJP leaders present at the meeting said the government remained committed to protecting students’ interests and strengthening transparency in competitive examinations.

“The concerns of students are important, and the government will continue working towards improving the examination system,” leaders said.

With the announcement, the CJP said it would suspend its Jantar Mantar protest and shift focus towards monitoring the implementation of the announced measures.

The NEET paper leak controversy had triggered widespread protests across the country, raising questions over examination security, accountability, and the future of millions of aspiring students.
