BSF jawan at Kanker district in Chattisgarh shot himself dead

Chattisgarh [India]: The Kanker district police on Thursday recovered the body of the Border Security Force (BSF) jawan who shot himself dead.

Police stated that the body was recovered from Kanker in the pool of blood. The jawan had shot himself a point-blank range causing his immediate death.

Superintendent of Police, Kanker district, Shalabh Sinha stated that the BSF Jawan belonged to the 30 Bn Koylibeda regiment and he shot himself with his service revolver. The reason behind the extreme step is yet to be ascertained. A case of suicide has been registered by the police and investigations are on.

The incident has sent shockwaves among the BSF circles in Chattisgarh.
