Bomb Scare Rocks Ahmedabad Ahead of IPL Final

Ahmedabad, Gujarat — Ahmedabad was gripped by a sudden wave of alarm this Tuesday morning as Geneva Liberal School on SP Ring Road received a chilling bomb threat via email, just hours before the highly anticipated IPL final at the nearby Narendra Modi Stadium.

The threatening email, sent around 10:58 AM from an individual identified as “Divij Prabhakara” with the subject “bomb planted in the school to provide justice for a rape victim,” starkly declared the sender’s intent. “The police is sleeping and they cannot do anything, they don’t know to investigate properly. Only if children die, police will become active. We are going to blast the bomb in your school to bring to police attention about rape,” the email stated, as reported by school authorities.

The school informed both the police and the District Education Officer (DEO) office about the grave threat. Ahmedabad City DEO Rohit Chaudhary confirmed the incident, stating, “After receiving threats to the school, the school has informed the police and the DEO office. The police are investigating the school.” He added, “The police have been informed to support the school. It has also been told not to allow unauthorized persons to enter the school.”

Sources within the police department indicate a thorough search operation is underway at Geneva Liberal School, with K9 units and bomb disposal squads deployed to ascertain the veracity of the threat.

The incident casts a dark shadow over what was meant to be a day of sporting celebration in Ahmedabad, forcing authorities to divert significant resources to address the potential danger.
