Surat | Gujarat — In Gujarat, which is fighting against drugs and ganja, Go Go paper used for smoking drugs is being delivered to doorsteps like vegetables and groceries? Shocking revelations were made in the sting operation on 16 December. While the police are raiding roadside vendors, online delivery platforms such as Blinkit were found to be supplying ‘Go Go Paper’, a popular brand of rolling papers used for smoking cannabis in the diamond city of Surat.
The special operation group (SOG) of Surat police raided Blinkit’s godown. Also, while checking online, it was revealed that Gogo paper was out of stock across the state.
Surat SOG DCP Rajdeepsinh Nakum said that the police are on alert and have decided to raid Blinkit’s godown. As soon as the Blinkit website was searched, the online sale of Go Go paper stopped. Hybrid ganja is consumed with the Go Go paper. Why should something whose consumption is prohibited be sold on an online platform?
“Go Go Paper” refers primarily to Captain Gogo, a popular brand of rolling papers and pre-rolled cones (like “GoCone”) used for smoking, especially prominent in India, often sold online and at paan shops, raising concerns for authorities due to their association with cannabis consumption.
When the police reached there for investigation, it was found out that the company had removed all the stock after the sting operation. During the search operation, not a single Go Go paper was found from the godown. However, the police have warned to keep a strict vigil on online platforms and take strict action in this matter in the coming days.
If it is a crime to possess or sell ganja in the state, then how is it possible to sell the paper used for smoking it? When the sting was done with this burning question, the shocking fact came to light that not only paan shops, but now in the digital age, these things are reaching every home through mediums like Blinkit. After this operation, the system has become alert and wherever such papers are being sold in different areas of the city, the police are on the lookout.
