Massive Fire Erupts at ONGC Plant in Gandhinagar

GANDHINAGAR: Thick black smoke and towering flames sent alarm across the Kalol-Mansa highway early Thursday after a massive fire broke out at an Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) plant in Gandhinagar. The presence of flammable material at the facility raised concerns as firefighting teams rushed to contain the blaze.

Fire crews from Kalol and Gandhinagar were deployed to the site soon after the incident was reported. Personnel used water and foam to bring the fire under control and prevent it from spreading to other parts of the facility.

As a precaution, the area surrounding the plant was evacuated, while traffic on the Kalol-Mansa highway was temporarily diverted.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.

Senior ONGC officials and local police reached the facility as firefighting operations continued. The exact cause of the fire has not yet been established. Officials are examining the possibility of a short circuit or gas leakage, though the cause remains unconfirmed.
