Dahej, Gujarat — In a powerful testament to its “Growth with Goodness” philosophy, the Adani Group celebrated Adani Day – the birthday of its founder, Shri Gautam Adani – by dedicating the occasion to community service. This year’s focus saw the Adani Foundation-Dahej inaugurating a vital training center in Hathakundi village, Netrang taluka, aimed at preserving and promoting the traditional art forms of the tribal Kotwali community. The event, held in the presence of tribal leaders and dignitaries, underscores the group’s deep-rooted commitment to cultural preservation and sustainable livelihoods.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by prominent figures including Dr. C. C. Chaudhary, Executive Director of Adijati Research & Training-Gandhinagar;  Vasudaben Vasava, President of Taluka Panchayat Netrang; Netrang PI Ranjitsinh Vasava; Captain Girish Chandra, Marine Head of Adani Port-Dahej; and Chandubhai Chaudhary, Sarpanch of Moja Group Gram Panchayat, among other community leaders. Their presence highlighted the collaborative spirit driving this significant initiative.

“Adani Day is not merely a celebration; it is a reaffirmation of our responsibility to the communities that empower our growth,” a representative from Adani Foundation stated. “This training center is a living embodiment of that commitment, providing a platform for the Kotwali community to not only preserve their rich artistic heritage but also to build sustainable livelihoods for future generations.”

During the program, a comprehensive booklet detailing the Adani Foundation-Dahej’s various community development works since 2022 was released by Yogesh Meghpara, Coordinator of the Dahej Site. This publication offered a transparent look into the foundation’s impact on local communities.

Dr. C. C. Chaudhary, deeply impressed by the Adani Foundation’s efforts in the tribal area, lauded their work. He provided valuable insights into various government schemes related to handicrafts, avenues for selling products made by the Kotwali community, and even highlighted loan schemes of up to ₹25 lakhs available for tribal youth pursuing higher education or studying abroad. “The synergy between corporate initiatives like the Adani Foundation’s and government schemes is crucial for true grassroots development,” Dr. Chaudhary remarked, emphasizing the potential for holistic growth.

A significant moment during the event was the distribution of artisan cards to 140 beneficiaries of the Kotwali community by the Adani Foundation. These cards are instrumental in enabling the artisans to access various government welfare schemes, further empowering them economically. The documents for the special training center, a symbol of hope and opportunity for the Kotwali community, were officially submitted to the Gram Panchayat, solidifying its place within the village’s future.

The Kotwali community, known for its intricate traditional art, will now have a dedicated space to hone their skills, pass down knowledge to younger generations, and develop their craft for wider markets. This initiative not only celebrates their unique cultural identity but also integrates them into the broader economic landscape, aligning with the Adani Group’s overarching vision of inclusive development.
