Surat, Gujarat — In a thunderous display of patriotism and unity, the diamond city of Surat witnessed a massive Tiranga Yatra from Bhagal to Chowk Bazaar Fort to honour the Indian Army’s swift and decisive Operation Sindoor, carried out in retaliation for the brutal terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir.

The yatra, flagged off by Union Minister for Water Resources CR Paatil, became a moving tribute to the valor of the armed forces and the indomitable spirit of the nation. The rally, bursting with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram”, saw participation from all walks of life—differently-abled citizens, ex-servicemen, doctors, Muslim community members, students, and saints alike—carrying the tricolor high with pride.

“The Indian Army entered Pakistan’s own backyard, struck down terror hubs, and eliminated hundreds of enemies of peace,” said CR Paatil in a fiery speech. “Operation Sindoor is not just a military action—it is the collective roar of a billion Indians who refuse to be cowed by terror. The entire world has witnessed our army’s might.”

Referring to the barbaric attack that triggered the operation, Paatil added, “The terrorists tried to wipe the vermilion off our sisters’ foreheads. Today, every Indian wears that vermilion with pride. The Army has kept the Prime Minister’s promise and restored the nation’s honour.”

To commemorate the Army’s counter-attack and stand in solidarity with the fallen and the brave, men sported vermilion tilaks while women donned red sarees, turning the yatra into a sea of saffron, white, and green. The streets echoed with patriotic songs, as thousands lined the roads, waving the national flag.

Among the notable participants were MP Prabhu Vasava, Mayor Daxesh Mawani, former Union Minister Darshana Jardosh, District Collector Dr. Saurabh Pardhi, Municipal Commissioner Shalini Agarwal, along with corporators, schoolchildren, NCC cadets, business leaders, and social organizations.

“Every time Pakistan tests India’s patience, they face a humiliating defeat. Operation Sindoor is just the latest reminder,” Paatil stated. “This is new India—resolute, proud, and fearless.”

The event symbolized more than just a tribute—it was a message of strength, unity, and unshakable faith in the armed forces. From every corner of Surat, the spirit of India surged forth, proving yet again that in the face of terrorism, the country stands united, undeterred, and unbreakable.
