Dharampur : Mohan Bhagwat, the head of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), visited the Shrimad Rajchandra Ashram in Dharampur, the international headquarters of the global spiritual movement Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur founded by the Pujya Gurudevshri Rakeshji.

His visit marked a heartfelt tribute to Shrimad Rajchandraji, the great spiritual luminary, and coincided with the auspicious commencement of the 125th-anniversary celebrations of Shrimad Rajchandraji gracing the pious land of Dharampur and the centenary year celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Bhagwat’s visit underscored his deep admiration for Shrimad Rajchandraji’s timeless teachings and Pujya Gurudevshri’s unparalleled efforts in preserving and propagating India’s spiritual and cultural legacy. During his visit, Shri Bhagwat explored the serene Shrimad Rajchandra Ashram, an iconic spiritual haven and renowned pilgrimage destination.

He offered prayers at the Jin Mandir, a sacred space within the Ashram, and participated in the grand Mahamastakabhishek ceremony of the world’s largest statue of Shrimad Rajchandraji with Pujya Gurudevshri Rakeshji.

The ceremony was a moment of profound spiritual connection, with Shri Bhagwat expressing heartfelt gratitude for being part of such a monumental occasion. After a deeply engaging meditation session at the ‘Raj Sabhagruh,’ Shri Bhagwat attended an enlightening discourse by Pujya Gurudevshri Rakeshji.

On the occasion, Mohan Bhagwat praised Shrimad Rajchandraji as a beacon of India’s spiritual wisdom and emphasised on the transformative impact enlightened masters like Pujya Gurudevshri Rakeshji in fostering unity and purpose, to serve both the self and society.

Addressing the audience, he said “As soon as the statue of Shrimad Rajchandraji appears before us, our hands are folded in reverence. It is a great blessing for me to be here. Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur is doing some wonderful work towards uplifting the country, and one must visit such places that inspire progress. This place is like a battery that recharges my spirits. Many countries around the world have demonstrated examples of collective strength or glory, but only India has recognized the power of truth and self-realisation, which is essential for establishing global peace. In India, the nation and spirituality are not separate; they are one. The growth of spirituality directly leads to the upliftment of the nation, and thus, they complement each other.”

As part of his visit, Mohan Bhagwat participated in the pujan of the foundation stone and unveiled a commemorative plaque for the Shrimad Rajchandra Veterinary College, a pioneering initiative aimed at advancing veterinary sciences to provide the best of medical care for animals and address the steep need of veterinary doctors in the country.

In conjunction with the visit, Mohan Bhagwat also inaugurated a free medical camp, running from January 2 to January 5, 2025, aimed at providing end-to-end diagnostic and treatment support, benefitting over 25,000 of patients nearby villages and underserved tribal communities. With over 200 highly qualified doctors from across the globe and support from over 400 volunteers serving at this camp, the initiative reaffirms the Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur’s dedication to selfless service. Following this, mobility aids and medical equipment were distributed to differently-abled individuals and 4 outreach vans designed to extend healthcare services to remote areas were also inaugurated.
