Surat : About 7 people died in two separate incidents of major accidents reported in the union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli (DNH) and Anand in Gujarat on Thursday.

In the first incident, four people travelling in a car from Dudhni in Silvassa toward Khanvel died on the spot after the car fell in the deep gorge.

According to the information received about this serious accident, five friends from Surat had come to Dudhni in Dadra Nagar Haveli on a short trip. After enjoying their time at Dudhi lake, the friends were returning towards Surat via Khanvel. At that time, the driver lost control of the steering while descending the ghat section of the road.

The driver caused an accident by hitting the car with a large stone on the ghat to avoid a major accident. However, unfortunately, the car overturned four or five times and fell into the ghat below, causing the car to become a pile of rubble. In which four of the five youths in the car died on the spot. While one youth was injured.

The deceased have been identified as Hasmukh Mangukiya, 45, Sujit Purshottam Kaladia, 45, Sanjay Gajjar, 38 and Haresh Vaghodia, 34. Another victim, Sunil Nikude, 24, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The DNH police rushed to the spot with a rescue team and ambulance. The accident was so serious that the bodies trapped in the car were pulled out by cutting them. The police have shifted all the four dead bodies for post mortem.

On the other hand, a serious accident was reported in Anand that claimed the lives of three people. Three people were killed and more than 15 people were injured in an accident between a truck and a luxury bus on the Tarapur-Dharmaj highway near Petlad in Anand district on Thursday morning.

The luxury bus number (MP 45-ZF-7295) going from Rajkot to Surat was passing near Vaddala Patiya on the Tarapur-Dharmaj highway near Petlad in Anand district in the morning. Meanwhile, the driver of this luxury bus was trying to overtake the truck number (GJ-04-X- 6246) going ahead when the luxury bus crashed into the back of this truck. In this accident, 3 passengers of the luxury bus died on the spot due to serious injuries. While more than 15 other passengers suffered minor injuries.
