Youth Revives Snake with CPR in Vadodara

Vadodara : In a rare and surprising incident, a youth in Vadodara city successfully revived a seemingly lifeless snake using cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The rescue, which took place near Vrindavan Char Rasta, has garnered widespread attention for its uniqueness and the bravery shown by the rescuer.

The incident unfolded when locals discovered a snake lying motionless and in a critical state. Rescuers were promptly alerted, and Yash Tadvi, a dedicated animal rescuer, rushed to the scene. Upon his arrival, Tadvi assessed the situation and noticed faint signs of life. Without hesitation, he began administering mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, a technique rarely applied to snakes. Remarkably, his efforts paid off, and the snake was revived.

Describing the experience, Tadvi said, “As soon as I received the call, I went there immediately. The snake appeared dead, but when I picked it up, I sensed it was still alive. I started performing CPR, and I felt immense relief when it showed signs of life. I later handed the snake over to the forest department.”

He explained that the snake, a non-venomous species, is typically found in aquatic environments like rivers, lakes, and ponds. Although they are not dangerous, they can be aggressive and irritable, which makes handling them a challenge. Tadvi’s knowledge and experience in dealing with such creatures played a key role in the successful rescue.

Range Forest Officer Karan Singh Rajput praised Tadvi’s efforts but also advised caution. “Administering CPR to a snake can be dangerous. In this case, the CPR was likely attempted because the snake was non-venomous, and the rescuer was knowledgeable. We are currently offering training programs on how to safely handle snakes, and we will further investigate the matter,” he said.
