Congress Corporator Threatens PGVCL Officer, Arrested

According to the police, the Congress councillor lost her temper on receiving heavy electricity bill. She went to the PGVCL office and threatened an officer with dire consequences and flashed the wooden stick to hit the officer. The office staff went to recuse the officer and stopped the councillor.

Jamnagar : A police complaint has been registered against Congress corporator Rachna Nandania in Jamnagar for threatening a senior officer of  Paschim Gujarat Vij Corporation Limited (PGVCL) vigilance department  in his chamber with dire consequence and flashing a baton in her hand. Nandania went to the PGVCL office to vent her ire on the office staff for the sudden spike in her electricity bill following the installation of smart metres. 

The incident was captured on camera and was widely circulated on social media platforms on Thursday. Nandania, flashing a wooden stick, entered into the office of PGVCL’s vigilance officer and threatened him with dire consequences. The Congress councillor also flashed the wooden stick and was in action to hit the officer. She also exchanged abusive language with the officer. 

PGVCL officer Ajay Parmar has filed a complaint against the woman corporator who threatened to kill an officer of PGVCL. A case was registered under sections including threats and caste-based insults to an officer.

Rachna Nandania alleged that poor people are being robbed in the name of smart meters. Rachna Nandania reached the PGVCL vigilance office with a wooden stick and had a brawl with the officer.
