Anonymous Letter Stirs Gujarat BJP Political Unrest

Ahmedabad : Politics within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Gujarat has been thrown into disarray following the emergence of an anonymous letter targeting senior leaders in Ahmedabad. The letter, described as a ‘bombshell’ by insiders, accuses prominent figures including Dharmendra Shah, MLA Amul Bhatt, Anand Daga, Vipul Sevak, and Dhaval Raval of involvement in a massive corruption scandal within the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). The letter ominously warns that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party president CR Patil, and all BJP MLAs will be made aware of these accusations, escalating tensions within the party ranks.

Amit Shah, the president of the Ahmedabad BJP, condemned the anonymous letter as an attempt to defame senior BJP figures. “We have advised the concerned leaders mentioned in the letter to take legal action against the anonymous author,” Shah stated, emphasizing the party’s stance against such unsubstantiated allegations.

In response to the allegations, Anand Daga, a former BJP councillor implicated in the letter, dismissed the accusations regarding corruption in the AMC. “Bus contracts under AMTS have operated independently during my tenure; I have had no involvement,” Daga clarified, denying any wrongdoing.

Similarly, Dharmendra Shah, another accused BJP leader, refused to comment extensively on the matter, suggesting that such dissensions are common in political environments. “There are dissidents in every party; questions about this should be directed to the party leadership,” Shah remarked, downplaying the significance of the allegations.
