India Eyes Top 3: PM Modi Unveils ‘Amrit Kaal’ Vision at Vibrant Gujarat Summit

Gandhinagar : Prime Minister Narendra Modi, inaugurating the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, painted a picture of an ambitious nation ready to sprint from the world’s fifth-largest economy into the coveted top three, with “Gateway to the Future” as its theme.

“It is my ‘Guarantee’,” Modi proclaimed, his voice ringing with conviction, “that India is the fifth-largest economy in the world, determined to move into the top three in the coming years.” This isn’t mere rhetoric; it’s a declaration of intent fueled by India’s remarkable journey from the 11th position a decade ago.

But India’s aspirations extend beyond its own borders. “One World, One Family, One Future,” Modi intoned, emphasizing India’s commitment to global well-being, a guiding principle etched in the spirit of “Amrit Kaal,” the 25-year period leading up to the country’s centenary of independence. This principle found resonance in the presence of dignitaries like UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Mozambique President Mr Filipe Nyusi.

The UAE-India relationship received a special focus. Modi lauded the strengthening ties, highlighted by the President’s presence as chief guest and the signing of MoUs for food parks, renewable energy, and healthcare. Billion-dollar investments in Indian port infrastructure and the entry of UAE sovereign funds into Gift City further underscore the depth of this partnership.

Africa found its voice through President Nyusi, a former student of IIM Ahmedabad. Recognizing the confirmation of the African Union’s permanent membership during India’s G-20 chairmanship, Modi emphasized the summit’s role in bridging not just India and Mozambique, but also India and the entire continent.

Europe wasn’t overlooked either. The inaugural visit of Czech Prime Minister Mr Petr Fiala marked a new chapter in bilateral relations, with collaborations in automobiles, technology, and manufacturing taking center stage.

However, the summit wasn’t just about geopolitics. Modi delved into the domestic reforms propelling India’s growth. GST and the UAE FTA emerged as shining examples, streamlining taxation and sparking an infrastructure investment boom.
