Named “Mahila Shakti Ka Abhedaya Safar” or “Journey of Unrivaled Women Power,” this Cyclothon symbolizes the unwavering commitment to women’s empowerment, a cause close to the heart of the NCC’s mission. Director General of National Cadet Corps, DG NCC, flagged off the Cyclothon on December 8, 2023, from the southern tip of Kanyakumari, initiating a transformative journey through the heartlands of India.
Traversing through the picturesque landscapes and diverse cultures of Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra, Daman and Diu, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Haryana, the Cyclothon is a testament to the unyielding spirit of these young women, pedaling an average of 120 to 130 kilometers daily.
“The main objective of this Cyclothon is women’s empowerment,” expressed a spokesperson from the organizing committee. “We aim not only to raise awareness but also to convey our message through street plays in public spaces, inspiring individuals about the capabilities and potential of women in our society.”
The NCC’s pivotal role in empowering Indian girls and society at large cannot be overstated. The physical training and holistic development fostered by the NCC instill strength, self-reliance, and awareness of rights, fortifying these young women against discrimination and harassment.
“We aspire for our girls to become powerful and courageous,” said Dinesh Navadia, diamond industry leader. “Physical strength breeds courage, enabling them to confront and overcome societal challenges. The NCC is a beacon for nurturing resilient, empowered, and aware individuals.”
