LS Polls : Gujarat Electoral Officials Start Preparation at State-Level Workshop

Gandhinagar : Under the guidance of Chief Electoral Officer P Bharati, a proactive state-level workshop for Additional and Deputy Election Officers took place in Gandhinagar. The workshop, held on Wednesday, aimed to fortify preparations for the impending LS polls.

Focused on refining the scrutiny of nomination papers and adhering to the latest Election Commission of India (ECI) guidelines, the event served as a crucial training ground.

Dedicated to upholding the sanctity of free, fair, and transparent elections, the Election Commission of India had recently issued updated guidelines. These directives encompassed diverse electoral procedures essential for the seamless execution of the impending Lok Sabha elections. The workshop, orchestrated by the Chief Electoral Officer’s office, was a pivotal step towards ensuring statewide adherence to these directives.

The intensive one-day training session delved into multifaceted aspects of candidate nominations, including the nuanced process for candidates with criminal histories. Officials conducted a detailed demonstration outlining the meticulous arrangements and procedures entailing postal ballots.
