Surat : During the visit of Ashneer Grover to Surat, Ajay Ajmera, founder and CEO of the well-known textile maker and exporter Ajmera Fashion located in Surat, had an uplifting conversation with Grover.

Mr. Ajmera, who rose from modest origins and overcame several obstacles to become a prominent textile entrepreneur, was looking forward to meeting the Shark Tank judge and former co-founder and MD of BharatPe.

A lot of new businesses and young entrepreneurs look forward to Ashneer ji because of his stellar reputation in the IT and financial industries. It was a pleasure to meet him and share our tales with him. “As a business coach and motivator, I also gained tremendous insights about entrepreneurship, risk-taking, and the use of technology from him,” adds Mr. Ajmera.

An endearing gift from Mr. Ajmera was a silk saree that Ashneer Grover and his wife, the equally successful businesswoman Madhuri Jain Grover, had sewn especially for each other. With the assurance that they would treasure this unique present, Ajmera welcomed them to the Textile City.

It has not been simple for Mr. Ajmera to make a name for himself in the Textile City. Ajmera Fashion was established in 2011 by Mr. Ajmera, the youngest of seven siblings, who hails from Sikar in Rajasthan. He worked his way up the textile business ladder for a while before striking out on his own. Ajmera Fashion has grown from its humble beginnings as an office into a major player in Surat’s textile industry, sending products to over 30 nations worldwide. He says that being brave, taking chances, being loyal to one’s ideals and goals are the keys to success.

The industry has been full of ups and downs for me. During the worst of circumstances, I reminded myself that we start with nothing and have everything to gain. According to him, such frame of mind was crucial to his achievement.

His achievements are impressive in and of themselves, but Mr. Ajmera has also done much to advance gender equality. In the last twelve years, he has given over 10,000 women the chance to become financially independent via self-employment. Achieving these goals and more is central to the company’s purpose, which also includes providing resources to budding textile entrepreneurs.

Several distinguished accolades and medals have been bestowed upon Mr. Ajmera throughout the years, attesting to the fact that his efforts have not been ignored. Together with Ajmera Fashion, he has won more than 30 awards. These include, among others, the Divya Bhaskar Textile King Award in 2020, the Goa Governor’s Champions of Change Award in 2021, World Signature Awards’ Most Promising Women Designer Clothes Manufacturers of the Year (Gujarat) in 2019, the Rashtriya Vikas Ratan Award from the National Achievers Recognition Forum in 2019, and Worldwide Achievers & Zed Business’ Most Admired Manufacturer of Women Apparels in Gujarat in 2018.

“You must think in the limitless terms of abundance and success,” he says as he reflects on his life’s journey and the ways he has succeeded. We have the ability to think positively or negatively, and it’s up to us to decide how to utilise this power.

While speaking with Ajay Ajmera, Ashneer Grover discussed the importance of company founders from his point of view. The founders, he said, are the only ones who really know how they’re running the show. There has to be more recognition of the founders’ contribution, he said, since most people have no idea how hard it is to be an entrepreneur.
