Convict gets death penalty for the rape and murder of a minor girl

Surat: Dinesh Dashrath Besane, 24, was sentenced to death by a special court for the rape and murder of a 10-year-old girl in the Pandesara area under the Protection of Children for Sexual Offenses (POSCO) Act. This is the second death sentence handed down by a Surat court under the POSCO Act in the last ten days.

The judgment was announced on Thursday after the city police filed the charge sheet in a record time of 13 days and ordered the compensation of Rs 15 lakh to the victim’s family.

According to the case history, the accused enticed the unfortunate minor girl with a vada pav while she was playing near her house in Premnagar slums in Pandesara on December 7, 2020. The accused kidnapped the minor girl and took her to a deserted location in Udhana’s Laxminarayan Industrial Estate at BRC.

The accused raped the minor girl and when she bite his fingers, the accused brutally killed her with the brick several times on her head and escaped from the spot.

The post mortem of the minor girl at the New Civil Hospital (NCH) showed about 47 injury marks on her body and rape.

A public prosecutor, Nayan Sukhadwala, stated that a porn video was recovered from the accused’s mobile phone. The minor girl was killed cold-bloodedly, according to the court, and it is one of the rarest cases.
