Winners get candid at the SWA Awards 2022 Winners Roundtable

Mumbai (Maharashtra) : Feature film, television, web series, and song winners shared stories about their creative processes, inspirations, and challenges. Mumbai’s St. Andrews Auditorium hosted the Screenwriters Association of India’s third annual SWA Awards on November 9, 2022. The only Indian award that honours Hindi feature film, television, and web series screenwriters and lyricists.

The winners formed the panels for the Web Series (original), Television, Web Series (adapted), Lyrics, and Feature Films roundtable discussions.

Roundtable discussions reveal many behind-the-scenes details. Writing involves pain, struggle, confrontations, and disagreements. Tabbar and Mumbai Diaries backstories captivated the audience. The Roundtable discussed novel ideas. A Writer’s Room and the importance of poetry in songs were discussed. The screenwriters of award-winning films like Tribhang, Ramprasad Ki Teharwi, Mimi, and Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui discussed their writing process. Daylong panel discussions were informative and relatable for aspiring screenwriters.

“The Winners Roundtable is to have all the winning creators and writers on the same platform where they can share their processes and experiences in writing an award-winning script,” said SWA General Secretary Zaman Habib. Young writers can learn from the veterans and incorporate key points into their screenplays. It’s a great way to learn about people who’ve been through it all and triumphed.

In a world where entertainment has completely changed, such a discussion among groundbreaking content creators was necessary.
