Junagadh | Gujarat — Alfez Salim Bhatti, a 24-year-old from Junagadh who has been photographing wildlife since childhood, has provided proof of this by capturing two female leopards in a homosexual act at Devaliya Safari Park in Sasan. He was accompanied by his friend Kishan Upadhyay. While these two photographers were taking photographs at Devaliya Safari Park, they noticed that the female leopards’ behavior was different from that of normal leopards.
Cat-hunters dominate females of their group
It is well known that it is the nature of cat-hunters to dominate the females of their group or to increase the lineage by controlling the females in their territory, but the incidents of two male or female cat-hunters living together in their own territory being seen in a state of mating have become a topic of discussion among wildlife lovers these days.
Cases of this behavior between two male lions or two female lions of Gir have been seen many times in captivity and in the forest area, but the scenes of two such female or male leopards having sex have further expanded the discussion among wildlife lovers and such homosexual behavior in lions or leopards has become a topic of discussion again and again.
Man-eating leopards are kept in captivity at Gir
The leopards kept in captivity in the Gir Interpretation Zone (Devaliya Safari Park) are round in shape and surrounded by high walls. A large number of man-eating leopards, which have previously been known to attack humans, are kept in captivity here. Tourists can easily observe them during safaris.
The behavior of these two leopards was like that of a male and a female, who were repeatedly rubbing their bodies against each other and controlling each other in pre-mating behavior.
Alfez Bhatti captures rare moment of female leopards in homosexual act
Surprised by this strange behavior between two female wild animals, this young photographer, Alfez Bhatti, quickly turned his camera towards the leopards, anticipating that something different and strange was about to happen here and his guess turned out to be absolutely correct. This homosexual process continued between the two female leopards and these scenes kept getting captured in the cameras of the young men.
This amazing encounter between two female carnivorous cats has become possibly one of the most memorable photo opportunities in wildlife history.
Dr. Bhuva, who once worked at the Junagadh Sakkarbaug Zoo treating four predatory wild animals of the cat family – Asiatic lion, leopard, tiger and leopard – said that homosexual activities have been observed more frequently in leopards. This wildlife doctor, who personally went to bring four leopards from Singapore Zoo for the Junagadh Sakkarbaug Zoo, says that two male and two female leopards were kept separately in the Junagadh Zoo, but I think the chances of such a situation are increasing in the tiger cage.
Among lions, two male lions have occasionally been observed engaging in sexual activity, but when two males or two female leopards are housed in the same cage for extended periods, they have been observed engaging in sexual activity more frequently. In this case, when one of the female leopards is in heat, the other is attracted by the scent of the hormone.
Research on this subject has shown that various non-human animal species exhibit behavior that can be interpreted as homosexual or bisexual, which scientists often refer to as same-sex sexual behavior. This can include same-sex sexual activity, mating, affection, pair bonding, and parenting between same-sex animal pairs. Furthermore, sexual behavior in non-human animals takes many different forms. Even within the same species, however, homosexual behavior is most well-known among social species.
