Western Railway Announces Special Trains to Clear Extra Rush During Summer Months

This initiative by the Western Railway is expected to provide much-needed relief to passengers travelling between these destinations during the peak summer season.

Surat : To cater to the increased travel demand during the upcoming summer months, the Western Railway has announced the operation of special trains between Bandra Terminus – Gorakhpur and Udhna – Bhagalpur stations. These trains will run on special fares and cater to the unreserved passenger segment.

The press release issued by the Public Relations Department of Western Railway details the schedule and stoppages for these special trains:

Bandra Terminus – Gorakhpur Special (Train No. 05054/05053): This train will operate for 22 trips, departing Bandra Terminus every Saturday at 9:15 pm and reaching Gorakhpur at 6:25 am on Monday. The return journey (Train No. 05053) will depart from Gorakhpur every Friday at 9:30 am and reach Bandra Terminus by 6:00 pm the next day. This train will run from April 20th, 2024 to June 29th, 2024. En route, it will halt at major stations like Borivali, Surat, Vadodara, Kota, Agra Fort, Kanpur Central, and Gorakhpur. This train will comprise only General Second Class coaches.

Udhna – Bhagalpur Special Train (Train No. 09059/09060): This train will operate for only two trips. Train No. 09059 will depart from Udhna on April 13th, 2024 at 2:25 pm and reach Bhagalpur on April 14th, 2024 at 11:25 pm. The return journey (Train No. 09060) will depart from Bhagalpur on April 15th, 2024 at 4:00 am and reach Udhna on April 16th, 2024 at 2:00 pm. This train will halt at stations including Chalthan, Bhusaval, Jabalpur, Patna, and Bhagalpur. It will have both Sleeper Class and General Second Class coaches.

This initiative by the Western Railway is expected to provide much-needed relief to passengers travelling between these destinations during the peak summer season. Passengers are advised to book their tickets well in advance, especially for the limited-run Udhna – Bhagalpur special train.
