Ahmedabad : In honor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 23 remarkable years in public life, the Government of Gujarat is set to organize the Vikas Yatra (Vikas Walk) from 7th to 15th October. This significant event will take place across 23 iconic locations that reflect the vision, leadership, and transformative projects initiated, launched, or inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi during his tenure. The Vikas Walk is a key part of the larger Vikas Saptah (Development Week) celebrations, showcasing the developmental milestones achieved under his leadership.

Each of these iconic sites holds immense importance, having contributed to Gujarat’s growth in areas such as tourism, infrastructure, industrial development, heritage conservation, and urbanization. The Vikas Walk aims to celebrate and highlight these accomplishments while giving the public an opportunity to revisit the path of progress that has been shaped by the Prime Minister’s foresight.

As part of the Vikas Walk associated with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s journey of development, a selection of these 23 iconic locations are included in this pilgrimage. During this yatra, participants will gain insights into the importance and contribution of these sites in Shri Narendra Modi’s development journey.

Among the featured locations is the Statue of Unity, the tallest statue in the world, which stands as a global symbol of unity and leadership. Other notable sites include the Ahmedabad Riverfront, a model for urban rejuvenation; the Surat Diamond Bourse, the largest office complex in the world; and the Mahatma Mandir, a symbol of national pride and a premier convention center in India.

Heritage sites such as Modhera Sun Temple, Vadnagar Monastery, and the Dwarka Sudama Bridge have been transformed into prominent centers of tourism and culture under the Prime Minister’s initiatives. Moreover, projects like the GIFT City, India’s fintech capital, and the Sabarmati Railway Station, the proposed hub for the country’s first bullet train, reflect his vision for modern infrastructure and technological advancement.

The Vikas Walk will also include sites like Pavagadh, one of the 51 Shakti Peeths where the Prime Minister hoisted the flag after 500 years, Smritivan in Kutch, a memorial for the victims of the 2001 earthquake, and Charanka Solar Park, a testament to Gujarat’s pioneering role in renewable energy. Each of these locations serves as a testament to Prime Minister Shri Modi’s commitment to blending modernity with tradition, while also fostering sustainable development.

The Vikas Walk will be an interactive experience, providing guided tours, cultural performances, and exhibitions at each of the 23 sites. Participants will have the chance to engage with these projects that have become benchmarks of progress, not only for Gujarat but also for the entire country. This event is expected to draw participants from across the state and the nation, including citizens, government officials, and tourists alike.

Vikas Saptah is a celebration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi leadership and dedication to nation-building, with the Vikas Walk serving as a fitting tribute to the milestones achieved during his 23 years in public service. This walk will offer a glimpse into the future of India’s development, while also acknowledging the efforts that have led to Gujarat becoming a model of growth and innovation.
