Ahmedabad : Türkiye’s rich cultural heritage and diverse tourism offerings took center stage as the Ministry of Culture & Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye and Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) successfully hosted the fifth leg of their India Destination Promotion Event 2025 in Ahmedabad.

The event, held at Inspiration, Crowne Plaza City Centre, saw enthusiastic participation from key stakeholders in the Indian travel industry.

As part of the six-city promotional campaign, Ahmedabad played a crucial role in reinforcing the growing interest in Türkiye among Indian tourists. The event welcomed over 200, including leading travel professionals, tour operators, and hospitality experts keen on deepening business ties with Türkiye’s tourism sector.

Guiding the event’s discourse, Ms. Basak Onsal Demir, Counsellor for Culture and Tourism Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye, and TGA representative Ms. Zeynep Sinem Özyalçın, introduced fresh perspectives on Türkiye’s tourism landscape. During her presentation, Ms. Özyalçın emphasised new and emerging destinations, such as the serene Aegean coastline, the archaeological wonders of Göbeklitepe, and the Taş Tepeler region. Additionally, Türkiye’s potential for destination weddings and MICE tourism was highlighted, offering Indian travellers more curated experiences.

Commenting on the event, Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency stated, “Ahmedabad is home to a growing number of travellers seeking cultural and experiential journeys. Türkiye offers an unparalleled blend of history, nature, and luxury, making it an ideal destination for Indian tourists. We are witnessing increasing interest in not only Türkiye’s iconic cities like Istanbul and Cappadocia but also in our hidden gems, which provide unique and immersive travel experiences. Strengthening our connections with Ahmedabad’s travel industry is a key step in expanding tourism between our nations, and we look forward to welcoming more visitors from this vibrant city.”

The event also sparked discussions on strengthening air connectivity between Ahmedabad and Türkiye, with Turkish Airlines and IndiGo reaffirming their support. Attendees were treated to a series of engaging presentations, interactive networking sessions, and an exciting lucky draw with exclusive travel prizes.

With Ahmedabad’s successful participation, the focus now shifts to Mumbai, where the final leg of the India Destination Promotion Event 2025 promises to further enhance tourism collaboration between the two nations.
