This Ganesh Chaturthi, Diamond Bappa is the main attraction for devotees in Surat

For the last two years due to the coronavirus pandemic, Rajesh Pandav and his family, who owns the real diamond-shaped Ganesha, did not display the diamond Bappa to the devotees. This time around, the Pandav family has opened their doors for the devotees to worship Lord Ganesha in the diamond form.

For the last 15 years, the Pandavs have preserved the Bappa in its original form. Many renowned diamantaires from Surat, Mumbai, Antwerp, Israel and the US expressed their firm desire to purchase the diamond-shaped Ganesha, but they refused. “It is like a blessing from Lord Ganesha that we got the diamond-shaped Bappa in our house. It is the biggest treasure for our family. I got several offers ranging from Rs 400 crore to Rs 500 crore, we are unwilling to sell it” said Pandav.

Pandav is upset with some unscrupulous elements who are showing the pictures of his diamond-shaped Ganesha to the gullible devotees and raising funds for themselves. “I want to reassure the devotees that the diamond Bappa is the proud possession of the Pandavs. There is no other real diamond Bappa on this earth” said Pandav.

The diamond Bappa has been certified by the Indian Diamond Institute (IDI) in Surat, which is under the Ministry of Commerce and Industries.

On the immersion day i.e the 10th day of Ganesh Chaturthi, the Pandavs would bring the holy water from the Tapi river and sprinkle it on the diamond Bappa as an immersion ritual. The diamond Bappa will then be shifted to the safe deposit vault until the next year” said Pandav.
