Ahmedabad : The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport in Ahmedabad has yet another record in terms of passenger traffic. SVPI recorded highest number of passengers travelling to various destinations—the airport handled 37,696 passengers with 297 flights—on Sunday.

Many aspects of SVPI Airport’s infrastructure and services have undergone extensive upgrades in recent years to provide passengers with a superior travel experience. Passengers can move freely through the terminal thanks to services like the Goodness Desk, Dynamic Queue Management, and the presence of Floor Walking Customer Service Executives.

New digital barcode scanners have been installed at the terminal gate to speed up passenger entry, and the arrivals hall has been expanded to accommodate more luggage. Two additional boarding gates have also been added to the domestic terminal to accommodate the increased traffic. Not only that, but improvements are coming to the efficiency and capacity of the security holding area.

There were 37696 passengers on various scheduled and non-scheduled flights, with 31688 being domestic and 6008 being international. The number of unscheduled flights has increased dramatically over the past year since a general aviation terminal was built. Dubai, Kuwait, and Abu Dhabi are just a few of the many international hotspots easily accessible from Ahmedabad. The most popular domestic locations are Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. With a current network of 33 domestic and 15 international destinations, SVPIA will continue to expand its domestic and international connectivity footprint.
