Surat : Young Couple Commits suicide in Umarpada Forest

Surat | Gujarat — In a shocking incident, young love birds committed suicide in the dense forest area of ​​Umarpada taluka of Surat district on Wednesday. The young boy and the girl hanged themselves with the help of a dupatta on a tree branch. 

According to the information received, locals saw two dead bodies hanging from a tree in the forest area of ​​Katanwadi village near Dhanavad in Umarpada taluka. It has come to light that the young man and the girl committed suicide with the help of a dupatta on the same branch. Prima facie, it seems that this is the final step taken in their love affair.

The deceased have been identified as Bansari Shailesh Patel, a resident of Chokhawada in Umarpada, and Neeraj Babu Patel, a resident of Navsari. Both the deceased belonged to the Dhodia Patel community, a tribal community in south Gujarat .

As soon as the incident was reported, the Umarpada police convoy immediately reached the spot. The police brought down both the bodies and moved them for postmortem. The police have started further investigation in this matter.

Umarpada police inspector JG Mod said that as soon as it was reported that a young man and a girl committed suicide by tying a dupatta to a tree in the forest area under the Umarpada police limits, the police team immediately rushed to the spot. The bodies of both have been taken down from the tree and moved for post-mortem. The reason behind the death of both is not yet known, in the initial investigation of the police, it appears that both are lovers. The parents of both are being contacted.
