Over the four-day event, a staggering 60,000 people thronged the Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre, showcasing their keen interest in the latest offerings from the automotive industry.

Mehul Desai, Chairman of the Surat International Auto Expo 2024, echoed the positive sentiment. He reported that some car and two-wheeler exhibitors witnessed a windfall, receiving on-the-spot bookings ranging from 8 to 10 vehicles each. The final tally for the Expo reveals a robust performance: over 100 passenger cars, more than 200 two-wheelers, and approximately 20 commercial vehicles were sold directly at the event.

The success wasn’t limited to immediate sales. Inquiries across various segments promised a future windfall for exhibitors. In the four-wheeler segment, premium brands like BMW, Lexus, Mercedes, JLR, Kia, and others witnessed strong interest, generating inquiries ranging from 180 to 500 for their stalls. Established names like Toyota, Hyundai, Tata, Skoda, and Mini Cooper also attracted significant attention.

The two-wheeler segment mirrored this trend. Popular brands like Yamaha, TVS, Hero, Honda, Suzuki, and even electric scooter manufacturers like Joy Bike, Thrimp, and the revived Chetak brand saw high inquiry numbers, ranging from 150 to 400 for their respective stalls. The commercial vehicle segment wasn’t far behind, with Tata, Mahindra, Eicher, and Force Motors generating a healthy number of inquiries, estimated to be around 200 each.

Beyond vehicles themselves, a surge in interest was observed for stalls showcasing auto accessories, spare parts, and workshop equipment. These exhibitors, like their counterparts in the vehicle segments, reported a response exceeding their expectations.
