Dr. Aditi Mittal, known for her innovative approach to celebrating Ganesha Mahotsav, aims to capture the imagination of the youth while fostering a deeper connection to religious faith and creative expression. This year, her ambitious project involved sculpting a magnificent soap Ganesha that is now proudly displayed at VR Mall on Surat-Dumas road.

The entire sculpture is a testament to India’s diverse heritage, encapsulating spiritual, scientific, cultural, and environmental elements. Crafting this masterpiece required seven days of dedicated effort, resulting in a soap Ganesha measuring eleven feet in length, eleven feet in width, and six and a half feet in height, all composed of approximately 2,655 kilograms of soap.

The ‘Proud Bharat Soap Ganesha’ pays tribute to India’s Chandrayaan mission, featuring intricate details such as the Indian Tricolor, Chandrayaan spacecraft, the globe, rockets, and even the moon’s surface.

Dr. Aditi Mittal shared her vision for this unique creation, stating, “I wanted to combine our cultural and scientific achievements in one eco-friendly sculpture. This Ganesha represents the spirit of India and our contributions to the world.”

What sets this creation apart is its purpose beyond art. Dr. Aditi Mittal plans to dissolve the entire soap Ganesha and distribute it as prasad to those in need, aligning her project with the principles of sustainability and compassion.

Dr. Aditi Mittal’s commitment to eco-friendly celebrations is not new. For the past six years, she has been crafting Ganesha idols from various materials like watermelons, dry fruits, coconuts, and corn, distributing them as prasad to different locations after their dissolution. Her previous works, including eco-friendly Ganesha idols made from coconut leaves, dry fruits, 108 watermelons, coconuts, and corn, have earned her recognition in the Gujarat Book of Records and the India Book of Records.

“This magnificent soap Ganesha promises to inspire and engage people of all ages, reminding them of the beauty of creativity and the importance of preserving our planet’s precious resources” said Dr. Aditi.
