Surat : The joyous atmosphere of Dussehra took a heartbreaking turn for the residents of Erthan village in Palsana taluka when a 40-year-old unmarried man, Remank Hasmukh Naik, suddenly collapsed on what should have been a day of celebration. Remank, a resident of Erthan, complained of intense chest pain as he emerged from his bathroom, only to tragically pass away shortly thereafter.

Despite his youth, Remank’s life was cut short, as doctors at a private hospital in Palsana declared him dead upon his arrival. The shocking turn of events left the community in disbelief as they mourned the loss of a cheerful and beloved member of their village.

Remank Naik was employed in a textile mill at Sachin GIDC, and the night before his untimely passing, he had wholeheartedly participated in the lively garba event in his village.

Darshan Naik, the General Secretary of the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) and a relative of the deceased, spoke fondly of Remank, describing him as a cheerful and lovable individual. “Remank was a jolly personality, and he was very adorable. On the previous night, he prepared to celebrate the Dussehra festival in a grand manner. When he woke up in the morning and came out of the bathroom, he collapsed on the bed and did not open his eyes,” Darshan Naik recounted with sadness.

Though the exact cause of Remank’s sudden collapse is yet to be confirmed, Darshan Naik suggested that he may have succumbed to a severe heart attack. Remank leaves behind his parents, family members, and a host of grieving relatives.

Medical professionals in the city have been noting a worrying trend of rising heart attack cases among young individuals. Several factors have been cited as contributing to this increase, including sedentary lifestyles, higher consumption of junk food items, environmental pollution, hazardous air quality, chemical pollution, and the stresses of modern life.

The surge in heart attack cases has been particularly notable post-COVID-19, but experts are quick to dispel any misconceptions linking the rise to coronavirus vaccinations. Research has yet to establish any causal relationship between COVID-19 vaccines and an increased risk of heart attacks, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and seeking timely medical care for symptoms to help prevent such tragic incidents.
