Surat :  A Surat-based Nationalist organization, Maruti Veer Jawan Trust, is organizing an event to honor 131 families of martyr soldiers who died protecting the country. The event, called ‘Shaurya Rashi’, will be held on December 30 at the sprawling campus of Shree Hari Krishna Diamond in Sarthana.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will be present at the event along with MoS Railways and Textiles Darshana Jardosh. They will honor 131 families of martyr soldiers with ‘Shaurya Rashi’ cheques worth Rs 2.50 lakh each.

This is the fifth edition of the ‘Shaurya Rashi’ event. The trust has so far provided financial aid to 320 martyr families from different states of the country. With 131 more families to be honored on December 30, the total number of martyr families who have been honored with Shaurya Rashi will be 451.

Lavjibhai Badshah, president of Maruti Veer Jawan Trust, said that the event is organized to provide financial aid to the families of the martyrs.

“When the soldiers of the army are martyred while protecting the borders of the nation, their families are left without support. Maruti Veer Jawan Trust is sensitive to the families of these martyrs, who laid down their lies protecting the motherland round-the-clock, enduring the sub-zero temperatures of Siachen to the scorching heat of the desert. We can live comfortably inside the country because our soldiers are standing firm on the border. It is the duty of every citizen of the country to help the families of such soldiers,” Badshah said.

CP Vanani, trustee of Maruti Veer Jawan Trust, said that the event will start at 6 pm at Hari Krishna campus at Sarthana.

“Patriotic songs will be presented by world famous artist Bhavin Shastri. Then the family members of the martyrs present will reach the stage where they will be honored and felicitated by Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel and Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and presented with ‘Shaurya Rashi’ cheques worth Rs 2.50 lakh each,” Vanani said.

The ‘Shaurya Rashi’ event is a commendable initiative by Maruti Veer Jawan Trust. It is important to honor the families of the soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the country. The event will also raise awareness about the plight of the families of the martyrs and encourage people to come forward and help them.
