EV Manufacturing Company Sokudo Electric India has announced the launch of its flagship non-RTO model, Plus, in Gujarat. The low-speed scooter with advanced safety features and smart BMS has been designed keeping in mind the evolving demand of riders seeking safe, sustainable, and affordable mobility solutions. Through this new model, the company aims to fill the gap in the availability of Make in India products in the country’s non-RTO vehicle segment. The EV manufacturer aims to achieve a targeted monthly sale of 10000 Plus models in Gujarat, capturing 10-15% of the state’s non-RTO market in the first year of the launch. With this launch, the company expects to tap into the growing EV market of Gujarat, which has recorded a 714% growth in the last three years, and emerge as a market leader facilitating the state’s e-mobility goals.

The new model Plus priced at approximately Rs. 59,889 has a range of 105 km per charge and is powered by an advanced LFP non-explodable and fireproof battery. It features a CANbus speedometer that displays crucial battery status including battery level and temperature. To enhance rider safety, the electric scooter’s battery adheres to the AIS 156 Part 2 norms, a standard in high-speed vehicles, and is supported by smart BMS and active balancer. The ICAT-compliant low-speed e-scooter also offers a comprehensive warranty that extends to multiple components, including rear shocker, front shocker, speedometer, motor, controller, and wire harness, giving it an edge in this two-wheeler segment. The manufacturer has used plastic parts, materials, and 26kg chassis Made in India to support the local EV manufacturing ecosystem and accelerate the growth of the EV market which is projected to become a USD 113.99 billion market by 2029.

Mr. Prashant Vashishtha, the Founder and CMD of Sokudo Electric India, shared his thoughts on the new launch, stating, “Our new non-RTO electric scooter, Plus is designed to cater to the needs of individuals below 18 years of age and those above 60 years of age who do not have a license but need a sustainable and affordable mode of transportation. While integrating advanced features and smart modification at such a low cost was challenging, we managed to double the features at half the price through innovation. I am optimistic that our new model will attract value-conscious customers seeking a higher range and efficient performance at a budget-friendly cost. With our new launch, we hope to meet the lack of quality Made in India products in the non-RTO segment and help accelerate Gujarat’s vision for sustainable mobility.”

Sokudo Electric’s new vehicle aligns with the center’s Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme 2024 and aims to support the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission. The EV manufacturer is working on enhancing its product line and innovating new technological upgrades for upcoming models.
