SL Wins “Great Brand” International Award, Mahima Mishra Named “Greatest Leader” In Marine Business

Bhubaneshwar: Orissa Stevedores Limited (OSL), headed by its founder and managing director (MD) Mr Mahimananda (Mahima) Mishra, has won two international awards in the category of “Marine Business.”

While Mr Mahima Mishra has been named a “Great Leader,” his acclaimed company OSL has been named a “Great Brand” in the field of “Marine Business.”

H.E. Mr. Jamal Bin Saif Aljarwan, Secretary General, The UAE International Investors Council, presented the two prestigious prizes during an important event held yesterday (July 10, 2023) at the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel, Business Bay in Dubai.

The “20th Edition of Asia-Africa Business & Social Forum (AABSF)” and the “11th Edition – World’s Greatest Brands & Leaders 2023 Asia & GCC Awards and Summit” co-hosted the gala event. AsiaOne Magazine and UWG Media Consulting PL arranged it.

PROFILE OF MAHIMANANDA MISHRA:

Mr. Mahimananda Mishra, the light of Eastern India’s business circle, was born in the ancient city of Cuttack, Odisha, on Akshay Tritiya Day (7th May 1953), which is considered an auspicious day in India. Mr Mishra earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and his master’s degree in law from the reputed M S Law College in Cuttack.

While he began his firm in the logistics industry by supplying workers to the current stevedores, he saw the potential in stevedoring. So, in 1978, he founded Orissa Stevedores Limited (OSL), which rose to prominence by being the No. 1 stevedore at numerous seaports. The set of work procedures in stevedoring begun by Mr. Mahimananda Mishra in the 1970s is still in use today, despite the changing business climate and resulting in a win-win scenario for all stakeholders.

During his more than five-decade adventure, he developed a towering stevedoring firm and conglomerate of numerous commercial fields, including Mining, Hospitality, Automobile, Energy, Trading, Owning & Operating Ports & Terminals, and so on.

His strong engagement in charity initiatives is favourably regarded by the government and the general public due to his 360-degree perspective.
