SGCCI to host trio of global expos in Surat: health, food and trade

Surat : The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) is set to host three exhibitions: ‘Food and Beverages’, ‘Health and Wellness’, and SGCCI Global Village, all taking place at the Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre (SIECC), Sarsana, Surat, beginning January 25. 

For the first time in the country, a glass cleaning robot will be presented at the Health and Wellness Expo. In addition to this, updates regarding new software will be shared by several companies that have been delivering a range of software solutions for the past two decades. A new pharmacy management software utilizing OTP will be unveiled at this expo.

In addition to this, an advanced robotic joint replacement system, cutting-edge 4K and 3D laparoscopic units, and the latest sophisticated microscope will be featured at the expo. SGCCI president Vijay Mewawala announced that India is set to forge a new identity in the agricultural sector, aiming to achieve the vision of ‘Developed India @2047’. The agricultural sector is advancing through the integration of science, technology, and innovative insights. In this context, the SGCCI is hosting the Food and Beverages Exhibition to promote growth in the agricultural and food processing industries, fostering their development.

The region of South Gujarat, particularly Surat, stands out as a significant center for agriculture. This exhibition has been arranged to empower entrepreneurs and recent graduates in agriculture to play a vital role in the industry’s future development. Approximately 140 exhibitors took part in this exhibition. The food processing sector will showcase a variety of equipment and machinery, including packaging solutions, cold chain technology, refrigeration appliances, warehousing and cargo handling systems, food testing laboratories, insurance services, financial solutions, as well as a range of products such as dried and frozen foods, bakery items, groceries, beverages, food parks, and consumer packaged goods.

Over 12 agreements are anticipated to be finalized at this exhibition, encompassing various types such as point-to-point, chamber-to-chamber, and chamber-to-point. Over 100 business representatives from 10 different nations are set to attend the expo. Cultural programs have been organized for the citizens of Surat and invited guests during the exhibition, featuring a showcase of the rich cultural heritage of Sri Lanka and India. This event features participation from various hospitals in Surat, including those offering international-level medical facilities, Ayurvedic hospitals, and manufacturers of medical products, software, laboratory and medical equipment. Approximately 60 exhibitors are showcasing their services and innovations at this exhibition.

The primary goal of hosting the Health and Wellness Expo is to ensure that emerging entrepreneurs and start-ups in the health sector are informed about the diverse health initiatives offered by both Central and State Governments, enabling them to leverage these opportunities for swift growth in their industries. The Chamber of Commerce aims to foster a thriving atmosphere within the health sector in South Gujarat through this expo.
