SGCCI to Honor South Gujarat Personalities at Golden Jubilee Memorial Awards

SURAT, GUJARAT : The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) is set to honor distinguished personalities from South Gujarat with awards recognizing excellence in industry, entrepreneurship, innovation in manufacturing, new technology, and academic excellence at the SGCCI Golden Jubilee Memorial Awards on June 7.

SGCCI celebrated its golden jubilee in 1990, marking 50 years of service to industry and trade. During this milestone, then-president Rajnikantbhai Marfatia envisioned the Golden Jubilee Memorial Trust, which was subsequently established that same year. For the past 33 years, the Trust has been honoring outstanding achievements in various sectors, solidifying its role in encouraging excellence in South Gujarat.

The SGCCI Golden Jubilee Memorial Trust distributes awards in several categories, such as Outstanding Business Person, Pollution Control, Research & Development, Energy Efficiency, and more. This year, the Trust will present 14 awards for the year 2022-2023, continuing its tradition of recognizing exceptional contributions in the region.

A distinguished jury comprising eminent industry experts, academicians, and social activists is appointed to evaluate and select the awardees. This rigorous selection process ensures that the most deserving individuals and organizations receive the Golden Jubilee Awards.

This year, the SGCCI Golden Jubilee Memorial Trust will present a special lifetime achievement award to a citizen who has rendered distinguished service to the country. Additionally, an eminent person who has made significant contributions to the industry and gained international recognition will also be honored.

The awards ceremony will not only spotlight achievements within Surat but also extend recognition to companies and individuals who have demonstrated excellence throughout South Gujarat.
