AHMEDABAD,GUJARAT : Gujarat Chief Minister inaugurated the ambitious ‘Mission Three Million Trees’ campaign in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, signaling a significant step towards enhancing the city’s green cover. The campaign, spearheaded by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), aims to plant a staggering 30 lakh trees across the city.

The launch event, organized by the AMC, saw the Gujarat Chief Minister personally planting trees, symbolizing the commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable development. The ‘Mission Three Million Trees’ campaign aligns with the government’s vision to create a greener, healthier environment for present and future generations.

In addition to the tree planting initiative, the Chief Minister also inaugurated electric buses of the Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS). These eco-friendly buses will operate on the newly launched Metro Connectivity Feeder routes and Riverfront route, promoting sustainable and emission-free public transportation options.

Alongside the tree planting and e-bus launch, the AMC introduced RRR (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) vans, aimed at promoting responsible waste management practices in the city. Citizens can donate surplus old clothes, shoes, household items, toys, books, and small furniture to these vans. The donated items will undergo proper recycling or reuse processes, contributing to waste reduction efforts and fostering a cleaner, tidier city environment.

The ‘Mission Three Million Trees’ campaign, coupled with the introduction of electric buses and RRR vans, represents a holistic approach to environmental sustainability and urban development. By enhancing the green cover, promoting eco-friendly transportation, and implementing effective waste management practices, Ahmedabad aims to become a model city for environmental stewardship and innovation.

The success of these initiatives relies heavily on active citizen participation and cooperation. Residents are encouraged to contribute to the ‘Mission Three Million Trees’ campaign by planting trees in their neighborhoods and adopting eco-friendly practices in their daily lives. Additionally, citizens are urged to support the RRR vans by donating reusable items and embracing sustainable waste management practices.
