Finance Ministry names South Gujarat trade leader as RDTAC trade representative for Gujarat and UT regions

Surat | Gujarat — The Revenue Department of the Ministry of Finance, Government of India has appointed Nikhil Madrasi, president of the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) as trade representative in the Regional Direct Tax Advisory Committee (RDTAC) for Gujarat and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu Regions. This appointment is a matter of pride for the industry and trade world of the entire South Gujarat.

SGCCI president Nikhil Madrasi has been appointed in the trade representative category along with Bharat Manubhai Sutaria, Lok Sabha MP, in the MP category, Kamal Dinkarrai Shukla, Additional Commissioner of State Tax, Ahmedabad, in the State Government representative category, Dhruv Kumar Vinodchandra Shah in the lawyer dealing Income-Tax Matters category, Sulabh Ureshkumar Padshah in the Chartered Accountant category, Janik Nautambahai Vakil in the industry representative category,  Dr. Shankar S. Sodha in the  university professors/college principal category and Hitesh Mahendra Dave in the bank manager category.

The appointment of the SGCCi president in the Regional Direct Tax Advisory Committee by the Government of India is a reflection of the confidence of the industrialists and traders of South Gujarat. Through this committee, the taxpayers will get an effective opportunity to present the common questions and difficulties related to income tax in a positive manner before the government and the Income Tax Department. The Chamber has always acted as a bridge between industry and trade and the government and will continue to present constructive suggestions in the interest of the taxpayers in the coming times.

The Chamber has expressed the hope that the appointment of the President of the Chamber in this important national level committee will further strengthen the voice of the industrialists and traders of South Gujarat at the policy level.
