Surat : The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI), in collaboration with Gujarat Tourism, is set to host a first-of-its-kind Tourism Conclave on June 15 at the Platinum Hall in Sarsana.

Organized by the Chamber’s Tours and Travels Committee, this conclave aims to explore various aspects of the tourism industry, including travel planning, hotel classifications, government policies, and more. Going beyond popular tourist destinations, the event will provide valuable insights into the diverse world of tourism, both within India and abroad. It will shed light on Gujarat’s successful journey in the tourism sector while offering essential information for travelers and professionals.

Unlike conventional tourism events focused solely on places to visit, this Tourism Conclave seeks to delve deeper into the intricacies of the industry. Participants will have the opportunity to gain knowledge about fascinating tourist destinations, both within the country and internationally. The event will highlight Gujarat’s impressive progress in the tourism sector over the past decade. Additionally, attendees will learn important considerations for trip planning and gain valuable insights into the classification and categorization of hotels, resorts, and homestays.

The Tourism Conclave recognizes the vital role of travel agents in ensuring smooth and convenient travel experiences for tourists. It will shed light on the responsibilities and theoretical values that travel agents should adhere to when planning tours. Professionals in the field will learn how to carry out their duties effectively and professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction. The event will emphasize the importance of pre-planning and provide guidelines for tour operators to ensure a seamless travel experience.

Vinesh Shah, the advisor of the Chamber’s Tours and Travels Committee, highlighted the significance of the event in enhancing knowledge about popular foreign destinations, with Vietnam being a prime example. The conclave aims to provide comprehensive information on tourist attractions, safety precautions, visa processes, flight options, and more. Moreover, participants will gain valuable insights into the theoretical values and responsibilities of travel agents, gaining a deeper understanding of the industry.

The Tourism Conclave has received the support and cooperation of local Tours and Travels Associations in Surat, including TAAPI, SATA, TAAI, SGTCA, and SHARA. This collective effort underscores the importance of collaboration within the industry, fostering a conducive environment for knowledge sharing and growth.

“The Tourism Conclave organized by SGCCI in partnership with Gujarat Tourism promises to be a milestone event for the tourism industry” said Himanshu Bodawala, president of SGCCI. “It aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of travel planning, hotel classifications, government policies, and more.
