Over 100 exhibitors, hailing from Surat, South Gujarat, and across India, will showcase their expertise in healthcare at the three-day expo starting February 10th. This diverse lineup aims to demystify the medical tourism scene for NRGs, offering detailed information on treatments available in Surat’s hospitals.

“The health and wellness expo is a stepping stone towards establishing Surat as a medical tourism hub,” declares Ramesh Vaghasia, SGCCI president. “It’s a crucial step to bridge the gap between NRIs/NRGs and the exceptional healthcare facilities in our city.”

Post-pandemic, the importance of health has become paramount, driving both individuals and entrepreneurs towards wellness solutions. The expo caters to this heightened awareness, providing a platform for health-related industries, startups, and entrepreneurs. Young minds can discover government healthcare schemes and chart their growth trajectories within the industry.

Beyond NRGs, the expo aims to enlighten the public about Surat’s medical prowess. Visitors can gain insights into hospitals equipped for medical tourism, access details of specialized medical skills, and learn about advanced robotic surgeries available in the city.

“This is about showcasing Surat’s hidden gem: its exceptional healthcare,” said Vaghasia. “We want NRIs, NRGs, and everyone to know that Surat not only shines with diamonds, but also boasts medical expertise that rivals the best.”

Adding another facet to this event, the SGCCI will simultaneously host “Food and Agritech 2024.” This parallel exhibition focuses on fostering agricultural and food processing development in South Gujarat. By covering the entire agri-chain, the expo aims to introduce cutting-edge technology and quality practices in these crucial sectors.

“With its dual focus on healthcare and agriculture, the SGCCI’s initiative promises to be a multifaceted spectacle. As Surat steps onto the medical tourism stage, this expo is set to illuminate its potential and pave the way for a glittering future” said Vijay Mevawala, vice-president of SGCCI.
