Surat | Gujarat — A journey that began with a vision to transform higher education has reached a significant milestone as Sarvajanik University celebrates its 5th Foundation Year with a month-long series of academic, cultural, and community programmes from June 1 to June 30, 2026.
Established in 2021 by the 114-year-old Sarvajanik Education Society, the university has rapidly grown into a multidisciplinary academic hub guided by its vision, “Journey Towards an Enlightened Society.” Over five years, it has expanded from 48 to 65 programmes across diverse fields including artificial intelligence, data science, law, clinical embryology, economics, and integrated management studies.
The university has strengthened its academic ecosystem with the establishment of new institutions such as the Sarvajanik College of Liberal Arts and introduced several industry-oriented programmes designed to align education with evolving global demands.
Speaking on the occasion, chairman of Sarvajanik Education Society (SES) Ashish Vakil said the milestone reflects a commitment to inclusive and innovative education. “Our focus has always been on building an institution that shapes character, encourages innovation, and contributes meaningfully to society,” said representatives of the university administration.
The celebrations began with a ceremonial inauguration and Foundation Flagship Lecture Series on the “Future of Education in Society,” featuring academic leaders and thought speakers. A key highlight of the month-long schedule is “SU SPARK – 5×5: Ideas Worth Spreading,” where students, faculty, and alumni will present ideas on innovation, resilience, and social impact.
The programme also includes blood donation drives, health camps, cleanliness campaigns, and rural outreach initiatives aimed at strengthening social responsibility.
The celebrations will conclude on June 30 with a Gratitude and Recognition Ceremony honouring founders, donors, faculty, and staff, alongside cultural performances and a commemorative film showcasing the university’s five-year journey of growth and transformation.
