Surat (Gujarat): The Regional Passport Office (RPO-Surat) has organized the ‘Passport Tatkal’ drive for releasing appointments consisting of Tatkal and general appointments on December 3.

The passport tatkal drive has been initiated with the increase in the demand for passports and the endeavor of the RPO-Surat to reduce the long tatkal waiting cycle within one to three days in the Tatkal category. The residents from across South Gujarat will be able to participate in the passport tatkal drive.

According to the RPO, the appointments will be divided into 70% tatkal and 30% in the general category, and no PCC slots will be released. However, the appointments to be released on December 12 will be available for applicants who want to reschedule/prepone as well as for new applicants. However, this opportunity will allow only one preponement.

The applicants have been advised to take decisions carefully regarding preponement as if the applicant fails to appear after rescheduling the appointment in the single chance, he or she will have no opportunity to reschedule/choose another date.

“The main aim of the passport tatkal drive is to reduce the long waiting cycle for passport appointment and help applicants who are interested in getting an early appointment for a passport,” said RPO, Surat.

The applicants can book appointments on www.passportindia.gov.in
