Rajkot Kshatriya Leader PT Jadeja Jailed Under PASA

The complainant, Jasminbhai Bharatbhai Makwana, a 44-year-old factory owner and long-time temple volunteer, alleged that PT Jadeja had verbally abused and intimidated him over the phone for 45 minutes on April 20, warning him against organizing the Mahaarti scheduled for the next day.

Rajkot, Gujarat –  In a dramatic late-night move, Rajkot city police arrested Kshatriya community leader Praveensinh Tapubha Jadeja, popularly known as PT Jadeja, under the Prevention of Anti-Social Activities (PASA) Act and shifted him to Sabarmati Central Jail in Ahmedabad. The arrest follows a viral audio clip in which Jadeja allegedly threatened a temple volunteer, warning of a “bloody revolution” over a dispute surrounding the organization of Mahaarti at Amarnath Mahadev Temple.

“He threatened me, saying don’t perform the aarti or face a bloody revolution. Later, he even showed up at the temple with dogs, tore down banners, and frightened devotees,” Makwana said in his FIR filed at the Taluka Police Station.

PT Jadeja, a former trustee of the temple and a prominent face of the recent Kshatriya agitation against BJP MP Purushottam Rupala, was reportedly upset that the Mahaarti was being conducted under the banner of the Amarnath Yuva Group, sidelining his influence.

On Friday night, police officers, led by PI Hirpara, detained Jadeja from his residence in Sainagar. Sources revealed that Jadeja’s blood pressure spiked to a dangerous 300 upon learning he was being held under the stringent PASA law. He was first rushed to Giriraj Hospital and later sent to Ahmedabad Sabarmati Jail after formalities were completed.

Family, Community Leaders Cry Foul

PT Jadeja’s son, Akshit Jadeja, alleged political vendetta behind the arrest.

“My father cooperated with the police, responded to notices, and even appeared at the station. Suddenly, they took him in at midnight and detained him under PASA. This is not justice—it’s targeted action. If the government remains silent, the Kshatriya community will rise in protest,” he said.

Prominent Kshatriya leader Padminiba Vala also questioned the move, calling it “unjustified and retaliatory.”

“This action seems linked to our united movement during the Lok Sabha elections. We demand the government withdraw the PASA action. The community is hurt, but I appeal to everyone to maintain harmony,” she said.

Background of Controversies

PT Jadeja has been in the spotlight before. Apart from his leadership in the agitation against Rupala’s remarks on Kshatriya women, he also faced a usury case earlier, registered at Malviyanagar police station. His detention under PASA comes on the heels of rising tensions between his supporters and the temple’s current management, as well as previous friction with local authorities.

Police sources, while justifying the arrest, said that Jadeja’s continuous involvement in socially disruptive behavior and issuing public threats made his detention necessary to maintain law and order.

Police Tighten Security Amid Community Anger

Anticipating backlash, Rajkot police beefed up security from Sainagar to the Taluka Police Station. An iron barricade was erected, and additional personnel were deployed to prevent any flare-up. While no untoward incidents have been reported yet, community sentiments remain high.
