PM Modi to Unveil Rs.35,200 Crore Projects in Gujarat

VADODARA : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on September 8, unveiling and launching a massive infrastructure push worth more than ₹35,200 crore during a programme at University Ground in Vadodara. The projects span railways, highways, urban development, housing, water supply and renewable energy, with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel scheduled to attend.

Of the total investment, projects worth over ₹32,606 crore are being undertaken by the Central Government, while Gujarat Government projects account for more than ₹2,597 crore.

Railways will form the centrepiece of the programme, with projects worth over ₹30,766 crore. These include the inauguration of three sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC)—New Sanand (N)-New Makarpura, New Umargam-New Safale and New Safale-New JNPT—covering 326 km at a cost of ₹20,703 crore.

The foundation stone will also be laid for 259 km of third and fourth railway lines between Vadodara and Ratlam, involving ₹8,885 crore. New train and freight services will also be flagged off.

NHAI projects worth ₹1,840.55 crore include major bridges over the Tapi and Narmada, highway widening and flyovers on NH-48 and NH-53.

Gujarat’s urban development package includes the ₹523.59-crore second phase of the Vadodara Ring Road and a new Vadodara Municipal Corporation office. Water infrastructure worth ₹203.77 crore will benefit 11 villages.

A major renewable-energy initiative will see the foundation stone laid for a 110 MW floating solar project at Kadana Dam, costing ₹489.20 crore.

The state will also inaugurate 13,888 PMAY-G houses built at ₹236.10 crore, along with bridges, roads, a new Anand bus station and water-supply schemes.

“These projects will strengthen infrastructure and facilitate improved public services across Gujarat,” the state government said.

After Vadodara, Modi will travel to Navsari, where facilities at Eru PHQ will be inaugurated.
