Surat | Gujarat – Surat’s stature as India’s textile machinery hub was reinforced yet again as Sitex-2025 concluded with an overwhelming response from buyers and exhibitors. Organised jointly by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI), the Southern Gujarat Chamber Trade and Industries Development Center, and the Surat Texmek Federation, the three-day expo showcased cutting-edge textile technology that drew thousands of industry decision-makers from across the country.
Held from November 22 to 24, 2020, Sitex-2025 witnessed a footfall of 35,718 buyers and visitors, sending a strong signal about the industry’s appetite for modernisation and expansion even amid challenging global economic conditions.
SGCCI President Nikhil Madrasi described Sitex-2025 as “a super hit” based on the feedback from exhibitors.
“All exhibitors were able to demonstrate their state-of-the-art machinery to genuine buyers from several states. New buyer relationships were forged, and many exhibitors confirmed receiving substantial orders during one-to-one meetings,” Madrasi said.
One of the most significant outcomes of the expo was the potential capital investment of over ₹2,000 crore in advanced textile machinery over the next six months. Madrasi added:
“The volume of inquiries for high-end, technology-driven machinery indicates that the industry is preparing for major upgrades. Both Indian-made and globally advanced textile technologies showcased at Sitex have generated remarkable interest.”
