AHMEDABAD,GUJARAT : The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) Ahmedabad Asset has terminated its corporate partnership with Apollo Hospitals in Ahmedabad. This verdict stems from serious claims of carelessness, misdiagnosis, and fraudulent activity that surfaced following the untimely loss of an ONGC Chief Engineer’s four-and-a-half-year-old kid.

ONGC Terminates Tie-Up with Apollo Hospitals

The grieving ONGC Chief Engineer’s complaint describes a series of traumatic occurrences that began with his son’s admittance to Apollo Hospitals Ahmedabad. The child had Chronic Kidney Disease and was being treated by a pediatric nephrologist. Despite the family’s faith in the reputable institution, they describe an ordeal marred by medical malpractice and inadequate communication from hospital personnel.

One of the most disturbing allegations against Apollo Hospitals is the filing of a bogus feedback form attached to the treatment bill. The family argues that the paperwork was neither signed or filed by them, putting considerable doubt on the hospital’s billing accuracy.

Additional billing anomalies were identified, including expenditures for doctor appointments that allegedly did not occur. Furthermore, the family expressed worries about the attending doctor’s qualifications, particularly their credentials as a pediatric nephrologist.

In response to these allegations, ONGC management established a committee to investigate. This group includes top ONGC doctors, a civil surgeon from Gandhinagar Civil Hospital, and a pediatric nephrologist from IKD in Ahmedabad. Following a comprehensive inquiry that confirmed the family’s concerns, ONGC decided to discontinue its corporate relationship with Apollo Hospitals Ahmedabad.

Chhail Bihar Meena, President of the Association of Scientific and Technical Officers (ASTO) at ONGC Ahmedabad Asset, was deeply concerned about the occurrence. Meena told FPJ, “The Chief Engineer has been with ONGC Ahmedabad Asset since 2013.” In February 2024, his 4.5-year-old son had a heart condition. Tragically, the small baby died because Apollo Hospital refused to listen to repeated requests to consult a famous expert from Bangalore.

“The ONGC board has de-empaneled Apollo Hospitals,” Meena continued. We strongly advise all ONGC personnel to avoid seeking treatment at Apollo Hospital because no admission requests would be authorized through ONGCAReS.”

Multiple attempts to reach Apollo Hospitals management for comment were fruitless. Without a response from the number provided on their website, many questions about the accusations and the hospital’s position on this grave issue remain unsolved.
