Ahmedabad (Gujarat) :  Noted American and Indian film industry and literary stalwarts inaugurated the Karnavati Film and Literature Festival 2023, organised by Karnavati University at its sprawling campus, on Thursday evening. Karnavati University, the state private university dedicated to excellence in teaching and focussed on interdisciplinary learning, has taken another leap in its relentless pursuit of creating platforms for engaging and poignant dialogues and discourses on a range of diverse subjects concerning our society and country. Diving into the world of films and literature, the Karnavati Literature and Film Festival 2023 (KLFF) was inaugurated at the varsity’s sprawling campus on Thursday.

Mr David Valdes, Executive Producer, AVATAR: Way of Water along with Mr Rajit Kapur, a National Award-winning actor; Ms Swastika Mukherjee, actor; Mr Abhishek Agarwal, producer & entrepreneur and Mr Andreas Spyropoulos, Head of Consular and Visa Office, Embassy of Greece in India, remained present as guests of honour at the inaugural ceremony held at the campus.

The inaugural ceremony was followed by a scintillating performance in a fusion concert by Maati Baani, a World Music band combining elements of Hindustani Classical with various styles of Folk music and New age sounds.

Over the next three days from February 10-12, KLFF 2023 will witness a range of speaker sessions and engaging discussions around the world of films and literature.

Karnavati Literature and Film Festival is a celebratory initiative that seeks to light the sparks of literature, film, theatre, folk, art and culture into a grandeur of fireworks through incredible creative encounters. The festival will witness engaging speaker sessions, interactive panel discussions, workshops and a host of performances.

Shri Ritesh Hada, president, Karnavati University, said, “At Karnavati University, it is our constant endeavour to create platforms for meaningful discourses and dialogues over a range of subjects. As we embrace and engage with the constantly changing world in an age of social media and information overload, where attention spans are shrinking by the day, KLFF is an attempt to bring back the views and thoughts from storytellers, the writers and the original ‘content creators’ who have been relentlessly engaged in creative pursuits to seek and tell stories from a slice of everyday life or the world around us or even alternate realities.”

“KLFF is yet another endeavour of Karnavati University to create a dialogue, enable free flow of thoughts, ideas and discussions, as we celebrate the world of films and literature – which mirror the world we live in today,” Shri Hada further went on to say.

In its endeavour towards focussing on interdisciplinary learning, by far, Karnavati University has seen resounding success of the Youth Parliament and the Ahmedabad Design Week, which were organised over the years, with participation from across places.
