Surat (Gujarat) : The Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) has taken a surprising step by urging Indians to observe February 14 as ‘Cow Hug Day’ in an effort to preserve vedic traditions that have been threatened by the rise of the West.

The Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI), which is part of the Government of India’s Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, has argued that the ‘Cow’ is essential to Indian tradition and rural prosperity. It’s vital to life, and it stands for bovine prosperity and rich biodiversity. Named “Kamdhenu” and “Gaumata,” respectively, for its ability to nourish like a mother and provide wealth to humanity, these concepts are rooted in ancient Indian mythology.

The advancement of western culture over time has put Vedic traditions on the verge of extinction. Our physical culture and heritage have been almost forgotten amidst the glitz of western civilization.

In light of all the ways in which cows improve our lives, it’s no surprise that AWBI claims that cuddling with a cow will increase our joy on a personal and societal level.

It went on to say that by remembering the significance of mother cow on February 14, Cow Hug Day, everyone could spread joy and positive energy into their daily lives.
